This workshop series will provide comprehensive training for ASL interpreters

aspiring to work with Deaf talent in the Film/TV industry.

With more and more Deaf-centric projects in development, there is a higher demand for ASL Interpreters with set training and experience. Set interpreting is a specialty just like mental health or legal interpreting, so specialized training is required. This unique workshop series will provide the tools needed to be successful working in the entertainment industry with Deaf talent, not only in front of the camera but behind the camera as well. Workshops will include feedback from Deaf actors on what they are looking for in a set interpreter, as well as appearances by film crew members and talent management to advise on how to be effective while interpreting on and off the set.

TRID Mission Statement

The Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, Inc. promotes excellence in the delivery of interpreting services among diverse users of signed and spoken languages through professional development, networking, advocacy, and standards.
