Note: While the class is open to all qualified ASL interpreters, this scholarship is only for qualified Deaf Interpreters (DI).
If you are fluent in ASL and qualified as a Deaf interpreter in your jurisdiction, we invite you to apply to the AALB Deaf Interpreter Medical Scholarship. The purpose of this scholarship is to provide you with continuing education training in the field of medical interpretation.
Scholars will participate in a live & online 60-hour training led by a team of majority Deaf instructors. Upon completion of their training, they will receive a 60-hour certificate of training along with 6.0 RID CEUs if the scholar is certified by RID. We partner with free clinics to connect them with professional medical interpreters that wish to volunteer their time to serve patients without health insurance.
